In the Marathons
The high quality of the field makes it impossible to predict the winners before they cross the finish line.
Among the women, the main favourites will be the World Champion and World Games gold medallist in the 10km Points Marine Lefreuve FRA; the bronze medallist at the last European Championship, Manon Fraboulet, also French; the 2025 winner, Colombian Kelly Delgado; and fellow Colombian Aura Quintana, a former Lagos Marathon winner and third in the World Marathon Circuit in 2024, with several World Marathon Cup stage victories to her name. Surprises, however, are always possible.
Among the men, the top ten from last year’s Marathon will be in competition: the winner Patxi Peula, ESP; runner-up Carlos Tarazona, VEN (Venezuela); third-place Manuel Taibo, ESP; current European Marathon silver medallist Martin Ferrie, FRA, who finished 4th in 2025 and is a former World Marathon Champion; and Miguel Bravo, POR, who finished 5th in 2025 and won the Terras do Infante Marathon in both 2023 and 2024.
Also present will be the European Marathon bronze medallist Germain Deschamps, FRA; and the cherry on top will be the appearance of the former four-time European Long Distance Champion from 2021, the magical Diogo Marreiros.
In the overall tournament standings, the standout names present will be:
Giuseppe Bramanti – ITA – Mariani World Team, leader of a formidable squad that also features Trebouta, Bravo, and Cannoni; Julio Mirena PAR, captain of the American team SHEA/STOKES INLINE SPEED, whose ranks also include Martin Ferrie, Adrian Alonso, Manuel Taibo, and Carlos Tarazona; Daniel Niero ITA, the lead figure of the ROLLERBLADE SPSPSK WORLD TEAM, supported by Maiorca, Clementoni, Hugo Gerard, Rafael Heredia, and Mateo Rico Garcia.
There will also be a strong BONT WORLD TEAM, where it is difficult to identify a single leader – with World and European Champions in the mix, the possibilities are numerous – featuring Hugo Morin, Raul Pedraza, Arthur Lebeaupin, Sebastian Flores, and Aryanpal Ghuman. From Bont Continental, Victor Aerts, Joel Guacho, and Juan Torres could well have a say in deciding the Terras do Infante 2026 overall winner.
From NL Racing, Patxi Peula, ESP, as captain, alongside Nicolas Pazmiño, ECU (Ecuador).
And what of the American team TCC / TRAINING CAMPS AND COMPETITION, significantly strengthened compared to last season, with Jacob Melton, Gibran Gazali, Hayden Groves, HSIN-TSE-TU, Miles Mead, Tai Wei-Lin, and Daniel Uribe – they could well impose their own law.
Germain Deschamps, FRA, will compete without a team, as the POWERSLIDE VESMACO WORLD TEAMis not bringing its main riders – but he could well surprise the favourites.
Among the men, the 2024 and 2025 winner Giuseppe Bramante; the 2023 winner Marco Lira; the five-time Terras do Infante champion in 2008, 2009, 2014, 2017, and 2022, and the skater with the most titles in this tournament, Patxi Peula; and the only Portuguese skater with two victories in this event, Diogo Marreiros, will all be on the start line.
Among the women, Marine Lefreuvre, FRA, SHEA/STOKES INLINE SPEED, who claimed victory in 2025 and 2022, supported by Aura Quintana, COL, SHEA/STOKES INLINE SPEED, winner of the Terras do Infante in 2021 and 2019, will be among the main contenders, alongside a strong team that also includes Marie Dupuy, Alejandra Londoño, and Natalia Pesantez.
However, Keily Delgado, COL, POWERSLIDE VESMACO WORLD TEAM, winner in 2023 and 2024, whose teammates include Laethisia Schimek, Portuguese champion Jéssica Rodrigues, and Maiwenn Julou, will be a fierce rival with her sights firmly set on reclaiming this title.
Watch out too for the ROLLERBLADE SPSPSK WORLD TEAM, led by Manon Fraboulet, FRA; the BONT WORLD TEAM with Maria Arias, ECU; the SWINGS WORLD TEAM with Larissa Gaiser and Angelina Otto, GER; and the FR SKATES WORLD TEAM with Alison Bernardi, FRA and Daniela Bustamante, VEN.
This tournament will feature a minimum prize fund of €10,000, and for the first time will offer financial rewards to new track record holders. Every track record set at the Escola Júlio Dantas arena – from Thursday 9th April from 18:00 onwards through to Sunday evening – will earn a cash prize, as will the 100m and Marathon events on Sunday, 12 April, on the Avenida dos Descobrimentos.
More than enough reason to be there – full of energy and enthusiasm – cheering on your favourite skaters and enjoying the spectacular performances that these and other stars will deliver. It will be, without doubt, show time!
